EMAPi Conferences (Ecology and Management of Alien Plant Invasions) are held in alternate years at selected venues around the world. They uniquely focus on invasive plant research and management. Although the EMAPi name was first adopted in 2001, the earliest roots of EMAPi can be traced to an invasive plants conference organized in 1992 by Max Wade, Lois Child and John Brock .
