With more than 8,000 introduced plant species, the Hawaiian Islands provide a premier venue for exploring invasive plant research and impacts. Around 800 rare, endemic flowering plant species, together with changing land use patterns and climate present a challenging context for plant invasion management and ecological restoration.

EMAPi 2015 provides the opportunity to share findings and experiences — research, management, and policy — with professionals from around the world. A mid-conference field trip will offer first-hand experience with Hawaii’s plant invasions, while also allowing extensive opportunities for networking. For this international meeting, we are expecting to bring together ~ 300 active researchers, managers and policy makers. A special discounted registration will be available to students.
